Vice President, Corporate Estimating & Preconstruction The Boldt Company

Mark is VP Corporate Estimating & Preconstruction. He is also a member of The Boldt Company Senior Leadership. Mark oversees all Estimating & Preconstruction which includes 6 Independent Operating Groups, Estimating Enterprise Support Group which also includes Self-preformed Trade Estimating and Preconstruction VDC.

Mark is responsible for facilitating constant excellence in Estimating and Preconstruction Services. He excels in guiding the project teams in preparing the necessary estimating and preconstruction deliverables required to set up the projects for success. This includes all aspects of estimating and preconstruction services from conceptual design to construction documents with focused outcomes to produce a functionally and financially viable project that exceeds client and design team expectations. He will challenge the team to establish and recognize the specific project goals early so the entire team can tailor their work to meet these goals. This also includes early use of cost modeling by using internal and external historical data.

Mark has 40 years of experience in all types of Sites and Building Construction within most all market sectors such as commercial, healthcare, mixed use, senior living, hospitality, educational and industrial facilities. The first 14 years of his career and experience were working for a Structural Engineering Architectural Consulting Firm doing just that. He then transitioned into General Construction in Estimating and Preconstruction Services. Mark has led Preconstruction Departments for two other Top ENR General Contractors. His experience covers many geographic areas throughout the United States.

Mark is a graduate of Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil & Construction Engineering and has extended graduate studies in Structural Engineering. Mark has served on Iowa School Board as past member and president. Mark is a guest lecturer at the University of Wisconsin, Madison for CEE 492 Integrated Estimating & Scheduling.
