With nearly two decades at WEHR Constructors, Chris Smyth serves as Vice President of Estimating, leading the company’s preconstruction and estimating operations. Under his leadership, WEHR’s Estimating Department delivers approximately $300 million in estimates annually and maintains a robust historical cost database exceeding $6 billion in project value. Chris’s estimating experience spans a wide range of project types – from small-scale renovations to complex healthcare, education, and institutional projects exceeding $100 million. His portfolio includes several landmark projects such as the King’s Daughters Replacement Hospital ($54M), Norton Healthcare St. Matthews East Tower Addition ($67M), University of Kentucky Chemistry- Physics Building Addition and Renovation ($46M), and the Republic Bank Foundation West Louisville YMCA ($24M). Most recently, Chris and his team led preconstruction and estimating efforts for the University of Louisville Health West Tower Addition, a sevenstory, $163 million expansion project.

Recognized for his precision and expertise, Chris is deeply knowledgeable in historical cost data, cost management, estimating methodologies, and preconstruction planning. His commitment to accuracy has helped establish WEHR Constructors’ reputation for reliable and transparent budgeting, consistently ranked by clients as the company’s most valued service. Chris attended Utica College of Syracuse University and holds multiple trade certifications. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family and golfing.
