Alec Carnes

Building Systems & Group Manager Messer Construction Co.

Alec Carnes is a Building Systems Group (BSG) Executive at Messer Construction Co. Previously a partner at an MEP consulting firm, Alec joined Messer in 2021 and has over 30 years of experience. He graduated from the University of Dayton in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. Alec has been registered as a Professional Engineer in Ohio since 1999. His experience at Messer has been primarily focused on Health Care, Higher Education, and Manufacturing projects.

Alec leads the Messer Direct Procurement Services team in assisting owners, design teams, and Messer in early procurement of long lead and critical equipment. He also provides technical support for temporary electrical/HVAC systems for the Messer Rental Division. Alec’s experience includes mechanical, building automation, electrical systems engineering design, construction, and commissioning.

As an active member of the community, Alec is involved with Premier Health as Vice Chair of their Good Samaritan Foundation Board. He is also a member of Leadership Dayton’s Class of 2025.
